After completing a full up- and down scan with the TROPOS-MPSS system the following error from LabView appears:
"Error 7 occurred at New File"
The TROPOS MPSS-software stops. If you use the "continue" button the error appears again. The system cannot continue the measurements.
What is this error? How did this happen?
What can i do?

Re: Labview Error 7 with TROPOS MPSS system
The TROPOS MPSS needs a well-structured data folder. This folder should be on the hard disk “C” or similar partition. The folder sould be defined correctly in the "setup.vi" from the TROPOS-MPSS software. Inside this folder named e.g. “data MPSS” are the following subfolders:
- APS
- Average
- Config
- Contour
- diagnostics
- integral
- inverted
- NRT
- OPC
- PSL
- raw
- raw long
Identify the problem: What happened to get this error 7
If you change this structure or accidentally remove, delete or cut a folder by moving the data to another data storage via sftp, the TROPOS software cannot continue with saving the data after each completed scan. This leads to the mentioned error code 7 in the labview routine.
Solve the problem:
- check if the folder structure is still correct, if not bring it back in the correct structure
- check if the folder e.g. “date MPSS” under the hard disk "C" has all rights/permission to “write and save” data. This can happen, if the IT changes something or updated your system.
